Partner Marc A. Sanchez will share strategies for construction industry stakeholders to improve their contract negotiation and drafting at National Business Institute’s (NBI) CLE course, “Construction Insurance and Indemnification Boot Camp,” taking place on Wednesday, May 13, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm ET.

Marc’s presentation, “Construction Contract Negotiation and Drafting Tips,” will run from 2:00 – 2:45 pm ET and discuss:

  • Drafting and negotiating indemnity provisions
  • Recognizing indemnity obligations that are unenforceable or fall outside insurance coverage
  • Structuring additional insured requirements and avoiding common endorsement pitfalls
  • Applying waivers of subrogation, consequential damages, and other risk allocation tools
  • Ensuring contract requirements and insurance policy provisions are aligned

Additional presentations at the conference will provide insights on:

  • Examining the scope, exclusions, and overlaps within CGL and other insurance policies
  • Understanding the relationship between insurance coverage, indemnity obligations, and surety bonds
  • Drafting indemnity provisions that effectively shift risk and limit client exposure
