This October, Frantz Ward Partner Marc A. Sanchez will share insights on construction and surety claims in two separate presentations at the National Bond Claims Association (NBCA)’s Annual Meeting and American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on Construction Law’s Fall Conference.

Marc will present “Using Payment Bonds to Discharge Mechanic’s Liens” at the National Bond Claims Association (NBCA) Annual Meeting. He will be joined by Frankenmuth Insurance’s Susie Pegoraro and the two will cover the growing national trend of using existing payment bonds to discharge mechanic’s liens instead of purchasing lien transfer bonds, along with best practices for managing these situations before and after a payment bond is used to discharge a mechanic’s lien.

The annual meeting will take place October 7 through 9 at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia. Learn more about the NBCA.

Two weeks later, Marc will join the panel “Harboring Trouble: Fraud and Bad Faith Construction Claims” at the ABA Forum on Construction Law’s Fall Conference on Friday, October 23 from 10:55 – 11:55 am.

Fraudulent billing, owner misrepresentation, and bad faith add spice to mundane construction disputes. Marc will join Dorsey’s Rachel Burkhart and JS Held’s Wiley Wright to break down the evidentiary challenges, damages, and risks tied to bringing and defending extra-contractual tort claims in the construction context.

The conference will take place October 21 through 23 at The Westin Copley Place in Boston. Learn more and register here.
