Marc A. Sanchez Shares Effective Risk Management Strategies in Properties Magazine “Legal Perspectives” Column

Frantz Ward Partner Marc A. Sanchez was recently featured in Properties Magazine’s February 2025 publication for his “Legal Perspectives” article contribution, “Are Your Risk Management Processes Up to Date?”

The article discusses a key strategy to managing and mitigating risk in the construction industry, utilizing the four P’s: planning, preparation, processes, and procedures. Marc explains that effective risk management provides companies with the best chance to get paid while avoiding expensive claims and disputes.

In order to be successful, these risk management processes must be regularly audited and updated, ensuring that the company is properly identifying and dealing with critical risks such as supply chain issues or poor project management.

Building out the four P’s provides a structured guideline to ensure a smooth project:

• Plan ahead to secure payment.
• Prepare to negotiate a fair contract.
• Implement a process for vetting contractors or subcontractors.
• Establish procedures for training and education of field personnel.
