Frantz Ward Attorneys Thomas Cardone and Thomas Haren Elected to Partnership

Frantz Ward is pleased to announce that Thomas E. Cardone and Thomas G. Haren are elected to the partnership effective January 1, 2020. Thomas Cardone is a member of the firm’s Construction Practice Group and Thomas Haren is a member of the firm’s Business Law and Litigation Practice Groups.

Thomas Cardone focuses his law practice in the areas of construction law, government contracts, and commercial litigation. Tom represents construction managers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and materials-and-equipment manufacturers, among other construction professionals. He assists construction professionals in all aspects of the construction process from contracting through project close-out. Tom has experience selecting appropriate project-delivery methods and negotiating and drafting various types of construction contracts. He regularly counsels clients with the legal aspect of project management. He has experience on numerous types of projects from simple to complex, including projects delivered pursuant to IPD Agreements, Master-Services Agreements, MATOCs, and others. When disputes arise, Tom has experience handling project-related claims, such as payment disputes, construction liens, payment- and performance-bond claims, schedule-impact claims, differing site conditions, extra-work claims, default and termination disputes, construction and design defects, and various other construction matters. Prior to becoming an attorney, Tom served honorably as a United States Marine. He continues his service to the nation by advocating for service members’ and veterans’ rights. Tom is recognized on the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. He received his J.D., with Honors, from Emory University of Law and his B.A. from Auburn University.

Thomas Haren represents growing businesses at each stage of their development and is regularly asked to serve as outside general counsel for his clients. In that role, Tom advises his clients with respect to innumerable legal issues, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, contract negotiations, risk management, litigation, and other day-to-day business issues. He often works with his clients to overcome short-term regulatory and financial uncertainty to achieve long-term success in developing markets. As a result, Tom is one of the most sought-after attorneys serving the Ohio and national cannabis industry, in which he represents licensed operators in medical and adult use markets, ancillary service providers, and companies operating in the hemp industry.  Tom is named to the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and his B.A. from John Carroll University.
