Overview
Dan focuses his practice on real estate, transactional law, and real estate taxation. He advises clients on structuring real estate development acquisitions and restructuring real estate and commercial lending transactions.
He handles a range of commercial property matters, including the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties, mortgage financing transactions, lease negotiations, and property tax issues. Dan has also provided counsel on tax matters, including those related to not-for-profit entities, transferee liability, corporate reorganization, and federal tax reassessments.
Dan has represented clients in tax valuation disputes before the Board of Revision, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, the Court of Common Pleas, and the Ohio Supreme Court.

- Counsel to a real estate entrepreneur in connection with the formation of a joint venture with a large Cleveland, Ohio-based residential development company in the development of a townhouse project.
- Represented a national developer in connection with the refinance of a portfolio of commercial properties more than $10 million.
- Counsel to a national developer in connection with the recapitalization of a portfolio of commercial properties more than $75 million.
- Counsel to a real estate developer in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of properties more than $40 million.
- Negotiate terms and conditions on behalf of an international company in the lifting technology industry in connection with a multimillion-dollar sale of lifting equipment.
- Represented a national developer in the acquisition of a multimillion-dollar commercial property, including preparation of private placement memorandum, operating agreement and debt financing.
- Counsel to a national developer in 75+ leasing transactions with regional and national tenants ranging from 2,500sf to 100,000sf+.
- Represented a national developer in connection with the sale of a portfolio of industrial properties in excess of $100,000.
- Represented a regional developer in connection with a sale of a portfolio of properties more than $100,000.
