Overview
A trial lawyer and appellate advocate, George maintains a diverse practice. His current work focuses on representing architects, engineers, lawyers, and real estate brokers in civil litigation matters.
George has extensive jury trial experience in state and federal courts in Ohio. In addition, George has considerable appellate experience including appearances before the Ohio Supreme Court, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. George also serves as an arbitrator or mediator in his practice.
Known as a “lawyer’s lawyer” through his advocacy and community service, George mentors young lawyers in the Cleveland area and regularly handles pro bono cases for the Cleveland Legal Aid Society.
George is a frequent speaker at legal seminars mostly on the representation of professionals, ethics, and risk management. George has maintained an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell for over forty years.
Representative Experience
- Obtained a summary judgment for an architectural firm in federal court on ADA claims relating to a new townhome project in University Circle.
- Obtained summary judgments for numerous Ohio lawyers sued for legal malpractice based upon the statute of limitations and/or statute of repose.
- Obtained a significant sanctions order for an Ohio attorney against an opposing party and his lawyers for frivolous litigation conduct in connection with a settlement agreement.
- Obtained dismissals of numerous grievances against Ohio lawyers for various alleged violations of Ohio ethical rules.
