Overview

Practice Areas

Catharine concentrates her practice on health care law, counseling providers on regulatory obligations, transactions, and the business and compliance questions that come with day-to-day operations. She brings experience advising long-term care providers, guiding skilled nursing, assisted living, and residential care operators through licensing, residents’ rights obligations, and ownership changes, and supporting facility purchases, sales, and HUD-insured loans. She also develops HIPAA-compliant privacy, AI-governance, and technology-use policies and responds to employment claims filed with the EEOC and OCRC.

Prior to joining Frantz Ward, Catharine practiced at a Cleveland post-acute and senior living law firm with an emphasis on health care. There, she counseled long-term care clients in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan on compliance and employment issues and assisted with health care cases at the trial and appellate levels in Ohio.

While in law school, Catharine externed at a regional health system in Cleveland, providing in-house support on regulatory, compliance, and risk-management matters. Supplemented by her M.B.A. with an emphasis in health care management, these experiences give her a unique understanding of the challenges that health care organizations face.
