Discrimination/ Accommodation

Since the passage of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, employers have faced challenges maintaining a diverse workforce while avoiding complaints of discrimination. As the number of protected categories of employees and applicants has mushroomed, every employee can theoretically make a claim of discrimination. Our lawyers are adept at working with employers to navigate these difficult situations, starting at the pre-hire stage and working all the way through potential terminations. We develop policies; conduct diversity, harassment and other on-site training; handle investigations of charges and complaints; and litigate when necessary.

In Americans with Disabilities Act and religious cases, we also help employers identify and implement reasonable accommodations, and work through the required interactive process.
