Overview

For more than a decade, Adam has helped individuals and businesses work through their most challenging risk management and legal problems. From day-to-day business counseling through to the rigors of litigation, Adam has helped his clients achieve pragmatic results whether inside the courtroom or working to avoid it.

From contract disputes to class actions, in the workplace or job site, Adam’s skills and pragmatic approach have earned the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike. As a trial attorney, Adam offers first - and second-chair experience defending matters in courts and ADR forums.

Practices

    • Counsels clients across a broad array of industries in commercial contract disputes, noncompete agreements, trade secret & confidential information disputes, commercial real estate disputes, and construction litigation.
    • Provides guidance to and defense of Fortune 500 waste hauler against various commercial claims in courts throughout Ohio.
    • Defends nationwide automotive financing company in various actions against consumer financing claims.
    • Advises and defends restaurant, retail, and hospitality clients against various contract and tort claims.
    • Obtained summary judgment in favor of a borrower in a collection action brought by national banking association for alleged non-payment of a demand note filed after expiration of the applicable statute of limitations period.
    • Obtained summary judgment in favor of a former in-house counsel against a successor employer after a corporate merger triggered her right to enforce a “golden parachute” agreement and certain financial payment.
    • First-chair defense of a real estate agent and brokerage on claims of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, fraud, and detrimental reliance, which resulted in a jury verdict on only one of the claims and an award in accordance with the pretrial settlement offer.
    • Obtained reversal and remand of trial court orders on behalf of multiple clients in various appellate courts regarding enforceability of and procedural requirements for arbitration provisions under state law and Federal Arbitration Act.
    • Obtained favorable settlement on behalf of bond surety against claims of non-performance by contractor principal of various contractual obligations, including removal of asbestos and other hazardous materials from various property locations.
    • Part of team that represented former officers and directors of defunct manufacturer against claims brought derivatively by bankruptcy creditors on behalf of debtor entity for failing to timely shutdown operations, which resulted in unpaid administrative claims of more than $100 million.
