Joe focuses his practice on construction law and related litigation. He represents contractors, owners, construction managers, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, and insurance companies in all aspects of construction law, from project conceptualization to project close-out.
Joe’s experience includes claims involving breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, design, defect, delay, prompt pay, as well as claims against payment and performance surety bonds, mechanic’s liens, and attested accounts. He has experience with various types of project delivery methods including traditional design-bid-build, design-build, cost plus, and construction manager at risk. He counsels clients on project management and dispute resolution. Joe handles project-related claims, such as payment disputes, differing site conditions, extra-work claims, default and termination disputes, construction and design defects, and various other construction matters. He also has experience with construction contract review and negotiation
Prior to law school, Joe served honorably in the Army National Guard as an aircraft powertrain repairer with the 638th Aviation Support Battalion out of North Canton, Ohio. Once in law school, Joe was a Frantz Ward Summer Associate in 2015 before becoming an Associate with the firm in the fall of 2016. He received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Joe served in the Notre Dame Community Development Clinic as a Certified Student Legal Intern where he represented clients who had a vision for making Northern Indiana a better place to live.
