Frantz Ward Partner Thomas Cardone Elected Vice President of the Construction Management Association of America Ohio Chapter

Frantz Ward is proud to announce that Construction Partner Thomas E. Cardone has been elected Vice President of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Ohio Chapter Board of Directors for a two-year term.

CMAA promotes the profession of Construction Management and the use of qualified Construction Managers on projects and programs. CMAA serves construction and program managers as an advocate in government arenas, both legislative and regulatory; as a promoter of high professional standards and certification; as a builder of market opportunities in specific fields like water infrastructure and school construction. The chapter provides scholarship programs, workshops, recognition of outstanding projects and accomplishments, and advocacy for the profession on the local and regional level.

Tom focuses his law practice in the areas of construction law, government contracts, and commercial litigation. Tom represents construction managers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and materials-and-equipment manufacturers, among other construction professionals. He assists construction professionals in all aspects of the construction process from contracting through project close-out. Tom has experience selecting appropriate project-delivery methods and negotiating and drafting various types of construction contracts. He regularly counsels clients with the legal aspect of project management. He has experience on numerous types of projects from simple to complex, including projects delivered pursuant to IPD Agreements, Master-Services Agreements, MATOCs, and others. When disputes arise, Tom has experience handling project-related claims, such as payment disputes, construction liens, payment-and-performance-bond claims, schedule-impact claims, differing side conditions, extra-work claims, default and termination disputes, construction and design defects, and various other construction matters. Prior to becoming an attorney, Tom served honorably as a United States Marine. He continues his service to the nation by advocating for service members' and veterans' rights. Tom is named to the Ones to Watch list by The Best Lawyers in America. He received his J.D., with Honors, from Emory University of Law and his B.A. from Auburn University.
