Frantz Ward Attorney Mia Garcia Named to Crain’s Cleveland Business’ “Twenty In Their 20s”

Frantz Ward is pleased to announce that attorney Mia Garcia has been named to Crain’s Cleveland Business’ 2020 list of “Twenty In Their 20s”. Crain’s recognizes 20 up-and-coming professionals who are are less than 30 years of age and signify the future of business leadership in Northeast Ohio. These professionals are selected based on their career success and philanthropic or civil involvement.

Mia helps individuals and businesses navigate a variety of complex issues including trust and estate planning, nonprofit formation, corporate governance, and credit management matters. She counsels individuals in planning for the transfer of personal and business assets and structures plans to achieve tax-efficient results, assists in the formation and governance of a variety of tax-exempt and corporate entities, and develops compliance strategies on complex regulatory systems in data privacy and cybersecurity.

“Mia is not a paper pusher,” said David Weibel, Chair of Frantz Ward’s Business Law Transactional Practice. “She brings heartfelt empathy and thoughtful attention to detail to clients. Each estate plan is personal to her. She truly cares to find a solution that is best for the well-being of each family.”

Mia is dedicated to giving back to the community, including a significant time devoted to the hospice community. She has provided a comforting bedside presence in patients’ final hours as a volunteer with Hospice of the Western Reserve, where she also serves on the Planned Giving Advisory Council. She is actively involved with the Ohio End of Life Options as a Law and Policy Committee member. In addition, Mia has volunteered with the West Side Catholic Center, Case Western Reserve University’s Mentoring Alumni Program and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association 3R’s Program. Mia is recognized on the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. She earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University’s School of Law, cum laude, and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis.
