Partner Christina E. Niro Named Chair of the Frantz Ward Women’s Initiative

Frantz Ward is pleased to announce that Labor and Employment Partner Christina E. Niro has been named the Chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative, which is part of its Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Christina takes the reins from Partner Melissa Jones, who served in this role for the past two years.
 
Frantz Ward’s Women’s Initiative is committed to the recruitment, retention, promotion, and mentoring of our female attorneys through leadership, training, community networking, and community involvement. The initiative is not only designed to promote successful and rewarding legal careers for our female attorneys, but also a complete firm culture in which the high level of services provided to our clients continues to thrive.
 
Christina advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, from discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, and harassment, to cases involving contract disputes, restrictive covenants, trade secret theft and misappropriation, and unfair competition. She has litigated and tried cases in state and federal courts and frequently represents employers in various state and federal administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and the Department of Labor. Christina also provides employers of all sizes with day-to-day preventive counseling on topics such as FMLA and ADA compliance, compliance with state and federal cannabis laws, employee discipline, litigation prevention strategies, and employee handbook and policy development. She is OSHA 30 certified and represents and advises employers in all phases of compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, state administrative safety regulations, and related workplace safety issues. Christina also conducts in-housetraining on a variety of employment law topics to help employers understand, prevent and correct discrimination in the workplace. Christina is the recipient of the 2019 YWCA Distinguished Young Women Award. She is named to The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Litigation-Labor and Employment and is recognized on the Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Christina earned her J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Honors College at Denison University.
