Frantz Ward Partner Michael N. Chesney Joins Board of Directors of Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland

Frantz Ward is proud to announce that partner, Michael N. Chesney, has joined the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland. Mike will also serve on the board’s HR Committee.

“We are blessed to have someone with Mike’s talent and compassion on our Board of Directors,” said BGCC President and CEO Ron Soeder. “He has already been extremely helpful to the organization. We are pleased that Mike is so committed to helping our kids have great futures.”

Founded in 1954, Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland serves more than 8,600 youth at 15 sites in Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, East Cleveland and Garfield Heights. The Clubs provide a safe place for children to learn and grow, to develop ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, to engage in life-enhancing programs and to create a culture of hope and opportunity. BGCC’s mission is to inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Mike is involved in the Greater Cleveland community and has volunteered through the United Methodist Church, North Coast District as a member of the District Superintendency Committee. He has also served as a member of the United Way of Greater Cleveland on the Risk Management Committee and is a graduate of Cleveland Leadership Center’s Civic Leadership Institute Class of 2014.

In his legal practice, Mike represents management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including representing employers in court, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and other disputes. He advises companies, both large and small, on human resources issues and litigation prevention, including advice on terminations, compliance with employment laws, workplace investigations and the preparation of policies and employment agreements. Mike prides himself on providing strategic and practical advice to minimize the risk of employment litigation. Should litigation arise, Mike is a prepared, practical and aggressive advocate for his clients. He has successfully represented employers in single plaintiff and class/collective actions in state and federal courts, arbitration matters, and before administrative agencies throughout the country.

Mike currently serves as President of the Cleveland Employment American Inn of Court. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and his A.B. from Duke University.
