An open discussion webinar regarding the effect of COVID-19 on federal unemployment claims and workers' compensation claims. As to unemployment claims, we will discuss the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation Program (FPUC), including eligibility criteria for individuals and reimbursements to self-insured employers, as well as the interaction between the FPUC and state unemployment benefits, SBA loans, paid leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and unpaid furloughs. As to workers' compensation, we will address how to deal with injuries reported by work-from-home employees and provide updates on coronavirus-related claims, both by employees who have been required to work outside the home during the emergency and going forward as they return to the workplace. We'll outline some of the most common questions we've encountered and welcome questions from participants.

With the passage into law of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act on April 24, 2020, an additional $310 Billion has been injected into the rapidly depleted and previously exhausted Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). Discussion topics will include certain updates to the PPP since the initial passage of the CARES Act, as well as the guidance provided by the interim final rules issued by the Small Business Administration (SBA) regarding the PPP. The PPP loan forgiveness process and key considerations to maximizing full forgiveness of the PPP loan will also be discussed.
