Frantz Ward's associates are one of the firm's most valuable assets, and we firmly believe that the continued success of the firm is rooted in the development and success of those associates.
As such, the firm's partners are committed to ensuring that the associates succeed in every respect. The partners actively teach, evaluate and counsel the associates in all aspects of the practice of law, both in terms of substantive legal skills and in terms of what it takes to operate a successful business.
Each associate is assigned a mentor partner who assumes responsibility for monitoring the associate's activities. The mentor partner provides counseling assistance in trying to effect the associate's development as a well-rounded attorney. This includes working with the associate to integrate her into the internal culture of the firm and also helping her to develop meaningful relationships in the community. In addition, the mentor partner is responsible for coordinating the firm's assessment of the associate's substantive skills. Frantz Ward informally evaluates its associates on a quarterly basis and undertakes a more formal evaluation annually.
